Library Talk

Just when you thought I had given up on this...

I admit I have been MIA on this blog. Between my other 75 blogs, my weird life, the explosion of the 2.0 community over at Ning, and the fact that it seemed to be just a few folks hanging out here, I sorta put it on the back burner.

But, according to my stats, people are still checking in here - daily - in spite of the fact that there hasn't been a new post in almost a month. So, I figured I'd toss something else out there.

I have been reading a new blog, The Effing Librarian, with great interest. I don't have any idea where I originally found the link, and I don't know who writes it, but it sure is interesting - and, um, "different" from much of my daily library blog diet.

This post in particular has lots to say, and while I don't "agree" (and I am not even sure that's the word I am looking for) with some of it, I found it very thought-provoking.

I am in the middle of a research project for someone right this minute, so I will hold my comments for now. But, hey, if you're reading this blog, feel free to discuss!

  • By coincidence, I just found the Effing Librarian the other day. I don't necessarily buy what s/he's selling in the 2.0 post, but I like to read a variety of perspectives.

Maybe we should make blog readers' advisory a regular feature here?

  • I think making blog reader's advisory a regular here would be a great idea!!

There are so many great library blogs to read - and you can't possibly read them all - I think it would be fun to have people chime in on blog content.

And I wish Library Links would get some more action - if we could all get a Library Links roll on our pages, then it would be very easy for everyone to take a peek at something new from time to time!

  • thanks for checking out my site. i just write to entertain myself--like i have a knee-jerk reaction to something and then i write to sort out my feelings. and then i try to smooth out the grammar and remove the dirty words in case somebody else wants to read it (i'm not trying to change the world). so, again, thanks for visiting.

  • just for the record, i like the word 'eff.' it is now making up an even bigger part of my vocab than that for which it stands.
